CF Weekend: The Bank Holiday plans, Chelsea and a lot of eating out

I have spent most of the last week dodging all forms of news/social media, desperate to avoid seeing anything of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show coverage as we are going on Saturday and I want it to be a complete surprise. I’ve been a number of times before on press day (as Assistant Editor for Kensington & Chelsea’s local luxury magazine it was a bit of a prerequisite) but from what I *have* heard this year is brilliant, and rightly so as this year is the centenary celebrations. I’ve already earmarked the Sentebale Forget Me Not Garden and Pippa Small’s delicious sounding collaboration with Diptyque in her ‘Artisan Retreat’ as top of my ‘list to visit’.

We’re making the most of the free childcare (god bless grandparents) and sneaking in a quick lunch at Colbert (Jeremy King and Chris Corbin’s Sloane Square eatery) before we head back up to Crouch End (our base camp for the long weekend). We’ve also made time in our 3-day dash to the capital to check out a new tapas joint in N8 (the chef is ex-Barrafina!), a quick Dirty Burger fix and brunch at our favourite local, The Haberdashery (I’ve extolled it’s virtues here). Everytime we pop up to London we seem to go foodie mad, cramming (literally) in as much international grub as we can before we’re back in Devon with it’s delicious, albeit British-centric, Fish and Chips and pub fare. Sushi, Lebanese, Greek…. Oh my (waistline).

I’ll be covering our trip to Chelsea and various foodie jaunts over on our Instagram feed, you can follow us at ‘countryfille’.

What are your plans this weekend? Are you escaping to the country or heading off on a city break? I’d love to hear your plans.
