A tale of two shops called Made

I have, coincidently, made two purchases today from different shops called ‘Made’.

The first was a new desk from Made.com. A proper grown-up writing desk that will be for the sole purpose of ‘me’ and ‘words’.

Graphix desk, £129, made.com

I love it’s angular lines and slimline proportions versus the curves of our new dining suite that it will sit alongside.

I also picked out this lamp to illuminate my new workspace:

Then, with my homewares bug sated, I popped into a little vintage/reclamation boutique in Sidmouth, also called Made (it’s on York St, the last lane on the left down the high street, before you hit the sea) and came out with this new spotty leather bag for the princely sum of £8.

It’s soft, buttery tan leather with a dark brown spotty, ostrich leather effect envelope flap.

I love the fact the strap poppers off to become a clutch.

The black bag in the first shot is my current day clutch that is coming apart at the seams and is looking a bit scuffed. Yes, I carry a day clutch and I have a baby. Stop press. No, not when we’re going out for the day, but when pottering around for a couple of hours I find a clutch much easier to wrangle with a buggy/small boy (if we are going out for longer I generally take my amply proportioned Liberty bag). As long as it fits keys, cards, phone and a box of raisins, we’re good to go.
