Diptyque’s new spring candle launch: Jonquille

My love of Diptyque is well documented here at countryfille.com, it’s fragrances have punctuated my life over the last 5 or so years with the happiest of memories: one whiff of Philosykos and I’m at my husband’s family home on the Amalfi Coast; Baies reminds me of our first marital lovenest, as a cluster of them nestled on our fireplace and, even unlit, scented our new home… I could go on, 34 boulevard st germain is synonymous with my first trimester of pregnancy while Volutes (read my full review here) is my latest fragrance crush that has seen me through this winter in a cloud of spicy, tobacco notes.

And now to spring and the launch of Diptyque’s latest fragrance, Jonquille, or Daffodil in English.

The details on the launch promise ‘ a flowery, green scent, with a hint of moss and honey’ – perfect for those, like me, who hate cloying floral notes in the house. What appeals even more is the pairing suggestion with Mousses (‘the scent of the forest floor’) for a fresh hint of woodland earthiness. Wouldn’t they be perfect as a table centre for Easter Sunday lunch? Or an ideal house gift if you are visiting friends over the holidays?
