Downton Abbey Series 4 – RIP Cousin Matthew, we’ll miss you

So, Downton Abbey’s series 4 is going to start in precisely one hour.

I have had rather a red wine fuelled girly weekend with my best friend and I’m currently sat, curled up on the sofa, straight out of the bath (Dr. Hauschka Spruce bath oil – the only cure for a hangover), with a hot water bottle and a glass of port, next to the roaring wood burner…

Downton, I’m ready.

In our house, Downton Abbey will forever be synonymous with having a brand new baby. The first night out of hospital I lay with our very new, slumbering bundle cwtching into my arms and watched ‘the Big House’ all in a daze, as I tried to process the whole ‘having a baby’ bombshell.

A couple of seasons down the line and Downton has my full attention. Although I will be seriously missing the resident Downton eye candy, cousin Matthew:

God I love his earnestness. Such a kind face.

Dan Stevens doesn’t scrub up too badly either…

I guess I’ll have to make do with Dame Maggie Smith’s one-liners. My favourite so far being:

“Don’t be defeatist dear, it’s so middle-class”. Ha.

I’ll be live tweeting @countryfille throughout – enjoy!
