CF Eats: Friska, Bristol

You know you’ve got it bad when you start planning what you’re going to eat at a place, a full 24 hours before you get there.

I started a new job in Bristol this spring, as Online Editor for a brilliant new health and wellbeing brand (frustratingly top secret at the mo, but more in the Autumn) and it has meant a lot of meetings in coffee shops and lunches on the hop. After one too many dull Pret sandwiches, I sent out a tweet last month requesting some ‘food hook-ups’ in central Bristol. Almost immediately one of my oldest friends, M, replied : Friska.

On my first trip I hit lunchtime utopia:

The BBQ Pulled Pork hot wrap. *drools*.

There are a couple of Friska joints dotted around Bristol but I tend to frequent the one on the Triangle as it’s slap bang in between all my meetings. To be honest, I haven’t felt the need to explore the rest of the menu but if I did I might try the chicken Pho soup come winter or the baked falafel and feta salad looks tempting, or perhaps the Mexican Chicken Taco…

But for the foreseeable, my Wednesday lunch is going to consist of this beauty: sticky, sweet pulled pork, crunchy shredded veg, a good fistful of coriander and a thick, chewy, smoky, charred flatbread. The only downside is the dry cleaning bill: I haven’t managed to eat one of these bad boys without dripping half of it out the other end, I think I over squeeze in the excitement… a small price I reckon.

www.friskafood.com – this is absolutely not a sponsored post, I just can’t keep something this good to myself.

I love friska too but you have to try the stuff you haven’t tried before they go, I found out that they change the menu every three months to stay seasonal 😛

I know, I know. I am guilty of sticking with what I love. I am definitely going to try the Pho next time I go and I want to try the breakfasts too.
